An iron manufacturer conducted a study on ironing. This reveals several facts that are not so much surprising as entertaining to read.
Women often think about making a shopping list (42 percent) or about the children (33 percent) while ironing. But research by Philips shows that eleven percent also think about sex.
Almost all Dutch people who iron dislike it (about 90%). Yet 88 percent of the Dutch still iron their laundry. Especially men only pick up the iron when it’s really necessary. But when they do... a quarter of them think about sex (good to know, because if you’re not in the mood, definitely don’t ask your man to iron his own shirt...).
Shirts are apparently favorite ironing items for both men and women, and one in ten Dutch people even irons their underwear so it can be neatly put away in the closet.
