The Dutch Iron Museum harbors the history of an 'ordinary' household object. Very everyday. You might assume there is little of interest to see. But that turns out to be a misjudgment.

Here, they not only show you the objects from two, three, four hundred years ago with which our ancestors worked their clothing, but you also learn about the entire culture surrounding them.

The devices are the most peculiar objects from past centuries. Here is a small preview of the collection of nearly one and a half thousand old items used in the past for ironing, pressing, mangling, folding, stiffening, and polishing clothing.
